Jenkins is the leading open-source automation server supported by a large and growing community of developers, testers, designers and other people interested in continuous integration, continuous delivery and modern software delivery practices. Built on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), it provides more than 1,800 plugins that extend Jenkins to automate with practically any technology software delivery teams use. In 2021, Jenkins surpassed 250,000 known installations making it the most widely deployed automation server.
Dynatrace is an active user of Jenkins. We run dozens of modern configuration-as-code based Jenkins instances internally to support our continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. We are happy to participate in this project and to contribute back.
Jenkins is one of the largest and most well-known open-source communities and we are proud of our Dynatracers that contribute to the project. Our employees participate in the project’s documentation efforts, and also in plugin development and community governance. Our contributions include plugins for Dynatrace Platform, Jenkins tutorials, Jenkins and Keptn integrations, observability plugins like OpenTelemetry, and plugin management. Oleg Nenashev, a member of the Dynatrace OSPO, is a member of the Jenkins governance board
